RAYMOND O. “ROCKY” BARTON
CEO
Rocky was born in Augusta and grew up there from third grade through high school. He attended VMI for one year before entering the United States Air Force Academy. He graduated from the academy with a B.S. in 1972 and earned an M.S. in Management from Troy State University in 1984. He served twelve years active duty in the Air Force followed by over ten years in the Georgia Air National Guard, accumulating over 22 years of flying fighter aircraft (F-4, F-16, F-15). In 1993, Rocky opened the doors to American Concrete.
Rocky married his wife, Jane in 1972 and they have a son, T.J. Barton.
He has over 30 years of experience in the ready-mixed concrete business and is certified by Georgia DOT as a Concrete Technician. Rocky has also earned certification from the NRMCA as a Production Control Technician and as a Concrete Technologist.

T.J. BARTON
PRESIDENT
An Augusta native, TJ believes you won’t find a better place to live!
He attended Georgia Southern University in 1996 but left in 1998 to join the United States Coast Guard out of a desire to follow the family tradition of military service. He graduated from American Military University in 2003 earning a B.S. in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Terrorism & Counter-Terrorism. He served 8 years in the US Coast Guard primarily running Search and Rescue in the Pacific Northwest where he was qualified as a Surfman on the 47′ Motor Lifeboat.
Upon separation of service from the USCG, TJ spent the next 15 years learning every facet of the concrete business and assumed the position of President in December 2016. He currently oversees all operations of the company, as well as development of products. He is the area’s only NRMCA Certified Concrete Technologist Level 4. TJ serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Augusta as well as the Georgia Area Council for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In addition to these roles, he was recently appointed to the National Area Council Committee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of American.
TJ has also served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Ready Mix Concrete Association.
CHRIS JOHNSON
VICE PRESIDENT
Chris is a lifelong resident of Augusta, Ga. He started his career at W.R. Toole Engineers where he served as a project manager for 14 years. He then started and ran a concrete construction business for 10 years building strong relationships with contractors, home builders and suppliers which eventually led him to join American Concrete as a Customer Sales Representative. In 2018, Chris was promoted to Vice President.
Chris attended Augusta University where he received a degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics. He is certified as an ACI Level 1 Technician and as a GDOT Certified Batcher.
Cammie Hayes
AARON HOBBS
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Aaron has lived in the CSRA all of his life. He started his career with American Concrete in 2008 as a customer service representative for South Carolina. In 2014 Aaron assumed the role of Operations Manager where he is responsible for quality assurance, training, safety and all plant operations. He is a NRMCA Certified Concrete Technologist Level 3, ACI Level 1 Field Technician and GDOT Certified Batcher.
JIM SUBER
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Jim has been in the ready mix industry for over 30 years and has held numerous positions such as Plant Dispatcher, Plant Manager and Customer Service Representative. We believe that Jim’s experience in this industry speaks for itself and he offers a wealth of knowledge for both the company and the customer.
Jim is a Georgia DOT Certified Batcher and is also an ACI Certified Concrete Technician Level 1.
BOB MUNDY
SUPERINTENDENT
Bob has been working in the concrete industry (in this very building) for over 55 years! We consider him a concrete expert and there isn’t much, if anything, this man hasn’t seen in the ready mix industry! Bob is certified as a Georgia DOT Concrete Technician and can usually be found supervising on a jobsite or operating piece of heavy machinery. He is our “go to” guy!
